Volatile fuel prices, cost, availability, performance and repeatability are all legitimate questions behind considering the use of alcohol based fuels. Although conversion from gasoline to alcohol is fairly straightforward, there are a number of factors to consider before making your conversion. Methanol requires approximately 2 times more fuel flow than gasoline. On the opposite end of the scale, E85 requires approximately 25 to 30% more fuel.
